Sikkim Snow Festival:
Sikkim
Snow Festival is an initiative of Travel Agents Association of
Sikkim (TAAS) to recover the losses and boost the tourism industry
of Sikkim due to 18th September Earth Quake that devastated the
economy of Sikkim. The idea was conceived to re activate various
tourism stake holders of Sikkim who suffered tremendously due to the
earth quake and also to bring in new opportunities to the young
generation of Sikkim to get in to Tourism industry. Snow Festival is
ideally selected for the month of February as most part of Sikkim
will have a good cover of snow for the tourist to enjoy. Thus, the
Sikkim Snow Fest. Sikkim Snow Fest will be full of activities both
in high altitude areas as well the base line areas to keep the
visitors busy with multiples of activities where in they can also
participate in most of them. Month long activities will be based on
Adventure, Culture, Nature, Tour, competitions, entertainments and
sale activities for the benefit of the tourists. Tourists will be
benefiting through the discounts in most of the tourists
establishments during the festival. Snow Festival Festival will be
organised annually during the month of January-February every year.
